How Does a West Marches Campaign Work?
Player-Driven Missions
You will have a character in the campaign setting that can join missions and help develop the world around them. The "missions" will be either individual one-shots or potentially a series of sessions related to a certain plot point.
Exploration & Discovery
Sessions will be motivated by the players who are curious about the world around them. Want to discover more about a certain area? Help a neighbor retrieve a lost object? Delve deeper into a dungeon? Fight a monster that you were too weak to defeat before?
Flexible Scheduling
Be as active or as inactive as you want! Instead of having a consistent time of the week that you have to set aside for a session, you can choose to join missions that fit into your schedule.
Dynamic Party Composition
Instead of being permanently tied to a particular party, each character is free to team up with any other arrangement of allies as they please! Players are encouraged to try out combinations of different characters working together, as well as playing with different DMs.
All Skill Levels Welcome
Whether you're a seasoned adventurer with years of tabletop experience or just picking up your first character sheet, you're welcome to join our West Marches campaign! We'll provide a detailed guide for character creation once we begin the planning process, and our experienced players and DMs are always ready to help newcomers get started. No matter your skill level, you'll find a welcoming community ready to help you create your character and enjoy the adventure.
